Google shows me I now have 1 security key registered on my account I can add more security keys for backup etcetera. The private key is only available to the devices "Secure Element". My security key now mints a new and unique key pair for my Google Account and shares the public key with Google. Click on the Register button, insert my Security Key by Yubico, wait for the blue light to flash steadily then touch the gold disc. I currently do not have any Security Keys registered so I click the Add Security Key button which brings up the Security Key registration page. In the “Password” box, click on the "Settings" link next to the "2-Step Verification" label then select the "Security Keys" tab.

To protect my account with a Security Key, I click on my username, then on the Accounts link and select the Security tab. As you can see in my inbox, I have already enabled two step verification on my account. In this video in the "How To” series, I will show registration of a FIDO Universal Second Factor (or U2F) "Security Key by Yubico" with my Google Account in the Chrome browser. To set up 2-Step Verification (required) you can view Google's instructions here: /landing/2step/.

This video will show you how to register your YubiKey with your Google Account. YubiKey is the fastest, easiest way to secure your Gmail, Google Apps, Adwords, and YouTube account.
